- Conscient et inconscient

Gunter, Pete A.Y. “Bergson and Jung.” Journal of the History of Ideas 43, no.4 (October-December 1982): 635-52.

Abstract

This article explores similarities between Bergson’s philosophy and C.G. Jung’s analytical psychology. More specifically, it confronts the possibility that in the years 1912-1920, during and shortly after his break with Sigmund Freud, Jung was able to use certain of Bergson’s notions to shape and deepen his own psychology. Bergson’s concepts of psychic energy, biological memory (unconscious), individuation, intuition, attention to life, and psychological “tension” very probably influenced Jung in a catalytic way.
